Financial Advisor Resume

When looking at a financial advisor resume, there are three key areas you should look at particularly, education, experience, and credentials (or sometimes referred to as designations). If you are searching for a financial advisor to help with planning your retirement, it is important that the possible advisor be well rounded in all three of these areas. We recommend downloading our free retirement calculator and taking advantage of the many free tools.

The education listed on a financial advisor resume can tell you a lot. It is very important that the advisor have some formal education, but this does not necessarily mean that advisor would be the best choice. A degree in ancient history is going to be little help in planning your retirement, but considering the other two areas of knowledge, the advisor just may be the right one for you. An educational background in business, economics, and finance are great areas for a financial advisor.

Along with the retirement calculator mentioned above, there is also a monthly newsletter that provides information about selecting a financial advisor.

From the experience section of the financial advisor resume, a wealth of information can be gained. It's much better to work with a financial advisor who has some experience. It's true that everyone was 'inexperienced' at one time but we would like to see you build a secure financial future for retirement, and with experience comes knowledge; with knowledge comes a better retirement for you.

Credentials and/or designations can be confusing and frustrating, but they are important. Some of the initials you will see listed on a financial advisor resume might include some of the following: CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), CMT (Chartered Market Technician), CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst), CIC (Chartered Investment Counselor), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CFS (Certified Fund Specialist), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner).

With the retirement calculator we recommend, you will gain knowledge about what these all mean. Designations mainly show that the financial advisor has furthered their education.

If you would like assistance in selecting a financial advisor, then you need the retirement calculator. Along with the retirement calculator, you will also be connected to a qualified retirement consultant, and don't forget that you will also get the monthly newsletter Retirement Intelligence Information Services.

We also recommend you check out the Knowledge Center. Best of all, the tools that accompany the retirement calculator are free, easy to use (you don't need to be real technical - everything is explained in easy-to-understand terms). The calculator can be downloaded and you can get started today planning your future finances for retirement. You don't need any extra software. It works with all Windows systems.

We are not the only ones who recommend the retirement calculator. Ray Martin, the top financial analyst for CBS News, recommended the retirement calculator on CBS' The Saturday Early Show.
